Handel's "Largo", as this music is popularly known, is often played during the bridal party's procession at wedding ceremonies. This version, bearing a more accurate title, has been transcribed for piano solo from the original orchestral score and therefore is more faithful to the composer's composition than most other piano arrangements. The original score contains hardly any dynamic markings and is completely devoid of any other expression markings; these have been added to this arrangement according to how the music is usually performed. Having been written originally for strings and voice, it is very effective when performed on an electronic keyboard with piano and slow strings combined. Players of intermediate technical ability will find the music easy to play. Use of the sustain pedal is essential throughout.
