The music depicts a conversation between angels, represented by the brass, woodwind sections and violin, and God and Jesus Christ, represented by the organ and piano. Tolling church bells are heard at the beginning of the piece and in the finale thanks to tubular bells. The instrumentation consists of three flutes, bass clarinet, two trumpets, two trombones, a baritone (T.C.), bass guitar, violin, organ, piano and tubular bells.
