The first trumpet part is up to a G above the treble clef but the other parts should be well within the ranges of second year players. The piece is set in a lively 6/8 rhythm in the style of an Irish Jig. After the introduction the melody begins in the tuba part then moves up through the ensemble as the piece continues.
