In the 1970s, the renowned Russian violinists Igor and David Oistrach undertook the editing of major violin concertos. They concentrated themselves on works for violin and piano, and drew upon their vast experience to provide a wealth of markings, especially in the solo part. Am Beginn des zweiten Teils halt die Komposition mit tanzerischer Musik Einzug auf dem Ball ehe es schliesslich wieder durch die winterliche Nacht nach Hause geht. Die historische Einrichtung fur Streicher mit kindgemassen Spielzeuginstrumenten hat Franz-Theodor Cursch-Buhren bereits 1896 bei Breitkopf & Hartel veroffentlicht. Die Violinschule ist die erste bedeutende Abhandlung des Geigenspiels in deutscher Sprache. Leopold Mozart geht dabei vor allem auf die durch Tartini und Locatelli gepragte italienische Violinkunst zuruck. In seiner Darstellung wird auch das direkte Umfeld von Wolfgang Amadeus Mozarts musikasthetischer Unterweisung erkennbar.
