Toni Braxton lit up the Rand B charts in the 1990's. Her soulful ballads appealed to Rand B fans as well as adult contemporary radio listeners. Her self-titled debut, released in the summer of 1993, hit #1 on the charts and sold over 8 million copies. It produced seven singles, most notably Breathe Again, which was a top 5 hit. She followed that success three years later with Secrets, which also sold upwards of 8 million copies, thanks largely to the hugely popular single Un-break My Heart, a Diane Warren-penned ballad that reached #1.
