Juan Crisostomo Jacobo Antonio de Arriaga y Balzola was born in Bilbao, Spain, on January 27th, 1806. He was a child prodigy, as violinist and composer; he died untimely, on January 17th, 1826, in Paris (he later came to be known as The Spanish Mozart.
