      Good solid studies for the serious player

      I've been playing flute for about 30 years now and these exercises give me a nice workout. If you're just starting advanced level work, go very easy with these and build up speed over however much time it takes you. Patience will repay you many times over later on. Well...

      Useful

      I've had this book for five years and I still use it nearly every time I practice my flute. It contains scales with variations, duets, articulation and fingering exercises, and solos. As the previous reviewer mentioned, this makes for excellent warm-up material once you've mastered the exercises.

      Excellent Selections

      Includes a broad spectrum of exercises for development of many techniques. The selections of music prepare flutist for solo as well as ensemble work. Book includes exercises in articulation that are challenging, interesting, and fun. Once mastered, the entire book serves as an excellent warm-up exercise.
