The syncopated rhythm of the melody is catchy, and students should have no trouble feeling the tied notes as they are repeated throughout the piece. Written in 4/4 meter, the melody lies nicely between the two hands with the right hand thumb on Middle C and the left hand thumb on the B next to it. The left hand crosses over the right hand in a few measures to add interest and excitement to the piece. The optional teacher duet adds harmony and march-like sounds throughout.
