Violin, viola/AT viols; or SA/ST recorders
Edited by Thomas. String Duets, Recorder Duets. Italian Instrumental Music of the Renaissance. Score. Published by London Pro Musica (MM.LPMIM08).

Item Number: MM.LPMIM08

Generally speaking, the pieces are paced fairly carefully so that the busiest writing appears about two-thirds to three-quarters of the way through. The first and last pieces are slightly different, in that they use elements from the canzon da sonar, which was rapidly becoming the most popular form of instrumental music at this time; the opening themes of both these pieces use the typical opening rhythm, and in both cases the first section reappears at the end. - BT.
