  • June 11, 2013 Enjoyable collection

I am really enjoying making my way through this book. It's missing some of the hits from Porgy and Bess but otherwise all my favourites are there.

  • November 06, 2012 I LOVE JAZZ :)

I LOVE Gershwin's music - and this book is a fantastic collection of some of his well known pieces. I play the piano for enjoyment and I have found most of these pieces fairly easy to pick up. Jazz is a brilliant style to learn to deal with changes in...

sharps/flats and makes you think a lot quicker when you go back to pop/country music. I would recommend this to absolutely everyone - a MUST BUY for any good music collector! You will use it daily!

    Difficulty Level:
  • February 04, 2012 Cheeeeeeep!

Prin is TOO small because of too many lines per page. Porgy and Bess not included, along with Summer Time. These are the old tin pan alley arrangements and chords, no upgrading at all!

    Difficulty Level:
  • January 18, 2012 Lots of wonderful Gershwin classics

A wide variety of all the wonderful popular Gershwin numbers that we all love. All of the piano/vocal/guitar seem to be the original release. The ones I already had matched note for note the Gershwin sheet music already in my collection. The only non-vocal I was familiar...

with was Rhapsody in Blue, and I was disappointed that it was a version arranged by someone else, not the full piano version as written by George Gershwin. However, if you're not quite advanced on the piano, this may be what you want, as the original version is difficult for most pianists. There's a smattering of Gershwin piano solos. Whether these are the originals or rearranged versions I don't know. I don't intend to use them, so I didn't really look at them. For me, I'm very pleased at having all my favorite Gershwin piano/vocals, in what looks like the original versions.

Great lyricist, too. I use this for most of my voice students. Very nice arrangements.
