Published by Drake Mabry (A0.799386).The Conservatory of Music in Thouars, France commissioned a series of works in memory of my studies with the American composer John Cage. Included were three pieces destined for beginning pianists but presenting them with musical situations which are taken from the creative world of John Cage. Thus the titles "Sonata for Prepared Pianist", "Sonata for Unprepared Pianist" and "Sonata for a Quiet Pianist". They are meant to be fun and maybe funny. And that's what the young pianists who play these tell me. The duration is 4 '00.
The premiere was at the Theatre de Thouars in Thouars, France on May 16, 2002.
