These pieces are written for solo violin, but they can also be played as duos. The second voice underlines either the rhythmic structure or adds a melodic line. It can be adapted (octaving and/or ignoring repeated notes) freely for any instrument. A second violin or vibraphone are however the most suitable. A good sense of rhythm is the precondition for a clean and precise technique. Almost all of these studies are written in asymmetric measures. The permanent change of binary and ternary figures requires a special concentration on the regularity of small note values. The dynamics are free. A '5' as fingering means stretching. X = without precise pitch.
