Purcell's affecting anthem Hear My Prayer, Oh Lord, was writing in 1680, approximately, and is likely to be part of a larger unfinished work. The autograph manuscript is held in the Cambridge Fitzwilliam Museum, from which John E West has edited this rendering of the work.
