I heard Curtis Curtis-Smith perform these etudes several years ago, and am now working on them myself. As Mr. Martin suggests, these etudes should be more known.

These are beautifully written and deserve wider recognition. C. Curtis-Smith himself must be an excellent pianist because he uses the natural sonorities of the instrument to wonderful effect. They are pianistically comfortable (for a well trained pianist), and all played ON the keyboard---no work inside the instrument or...

with special effects (mallets, bows, or other such contraptions), which makes them performable on any instrument and they complement standard repertoire beautifully.
