This Christmas cantata celebrates the countless good deeds surrounding the birth of Jesus. We are reminded of the lives of Zechariah and Elizabeth, whose son, John, was a miraculous gift from God, and whose life was filled with great courage and personal sacrifice. We remember Mary and Joseph as the angel Gabriel announces God's plan for the Messiah's birth. We reflect on their patience and understanding while facing suffering, indifference, hardship, and pain. We celebrate God's greatest gift through the birth of his son. And we are exhorted by Paul to live lives worthy of this gift and to do good while proclaiming God's love to the world. Up to 16 readers maybe incorporated into this presentation that includes familiar carols and original music for choir and two soloists. You will find it particularly appropriate for Christmas Eve or the Sunday evening before Christmas. Duration: approx. 40 minutes.
