Published by White Down Music (A0.990588).I decided this delightful English Folksong might withstand a new treatment and have set it here for un-accompanied SATB. After a straight forward opening succeeding verses are treated in different ways, to reflect the varying moods expressed by the words, varying from light hearted and humorous to dark and almost tragic.
Each voice has an opportunity to hold the melody and there are sometimes dramatic exchanges between the parts. Hopefully an entertaining and somewhat unusual treatment of this lovely example of Folk Art.
