The first verse stays in passacaglia form; the 2nd and 3rd verses become progressively more contemporary. The 4th verse employs the traditional harmony - with a few surprises! - in majestic style. The piece ends with a return to the quiet mystery of the Christmas birth. This piece is appropriate for an advanced SATB high school choir, a college choir, or a capable church choir. It could also be utilized by a strong SATB ensemble. It is approximately 3 1/2 minutes.
