Irish singer Caitriona O'Leary gathered together some of Ireland's finest traditional musicians to found Dulra, a group which combines traditional techniques with contemporary classical and world styles in order to present traditional Irish song in a fresh light. Through much research, Caitriona O'Leary was able to reconstruct the original melodies to The Wexford Carols, a volume of Irish poetry published in 1684, many of the melodies to which were presumed lost. This recording contains a wealth of Irish Christmas music, some of which is bring presented in recorded form for the first time. To bring about this historic recording, O'Leary collaborated with Grammy winners Sir Tom Jones, Rosanne Cash and Rhiannon Giddens.
