(Level IV) Medium up-tempo piece written for jazz orchestra (Doubles: Altos 1 Soprano/Flute; Alto 2-Flute; Tenor 1- Flute/Bb Clarinet; Baritone-Bass Clarinet; Trumpets - Flugelhorns). Swing-oriented piece based on a dodecaphonic row that develops into a multi-sectional form based on a handful of motives. Orchestral textures and contrapuntal treatments abound throughout this piece. Features an extended solo for Tenor 1 and a shorter second solo for flugelhorn (trumpet 4). It is a challenging piece but you will be rewarded by the results once it is ready to be performed. 8 Brass.
