The poem was written in 1934 by Richard Smith, who suffered from tuberculosis, as he was sitting in a park admiring the freshly fallen snow in Pennsylvanian. He showed the poem to friend Felix Bernard, a Jewish musician, and he put a tune to it. Smith died the following year at age 34. Guy Lombard and his orchestra, The Royal Canadians performed this song the winter before Smith died. This arrangement is for advanced intermediate level piano duet, for 1 piano, 4 hands. This festive and fun arrangement includes helpful fingering and both the primo and secondo have alternating melody.
