When Bidden To The Wake Or Fair adapted for violin and misc. instrument is a Mark O’Connor arrangement of an old song from Irish musician William Shield. The arrangement was composed for the album "Liberty!" and performed with guest cellist Yo-Yo Ma. The piece was used throughout the PBS series "Liberty! The American Revolution". "Liberty!" album notes author Thomas Fleming says of the piece, "... a unique sound, sweeter and more provocative than a human voice". The music is suited for all levels.
