Composed by Trad. American. Arranged by Paul Taylor. Barbershop,Folk,Historic. Score. 2 pages. Paul Taylor #775986. Published by Paul Taylor (A0.1175864).

All of us probably have attended gatherings, where things went along a little bit too long. The result of course was that we might start "nodding off," as the title indicates.  I found only the tune and two verses in an old Glee Club anthology in my great Grandfather's affects some years ago.  The words are included in case the pianists would like to sing the lyrics as they play. There is some evidence to support that some portions of the lyrics appeared in a poem of Robert Burns, the Scottish poet, . Other tunes from the mid 18th century where traces of this tune can be found in the tunes, "Nid Noddin," "The Whigs are Rinnen," "General Scott asleep" and "quartz on the brain (we're all cranky, mad, mad, cranky).".
