"Waltzing the Double Eagle" is based on an Austrian march by J.F. Wagner written in 1893 titled "Under the Double Eagle".  Wagner was a major composer of military music in that era, and the original version of this piece has been recorded by major military bands and orchestras the world over.

"Waltzing the Double Eagle" is an entertaining, imaginative revision of the march, written in the Viennese waltz style.  It is equqlly suitable for formal concert settings or the Beer Garden.

The piece is scored for 7 Brass:  3 trumpets, 2 tenor trombones, bass trombone, & tuba.  Euphonium or baritone are acceptable subtitutes for the 1st trombone part. Parts are available in the original key of Eb, or down a perfect 4th in Bb.
