Composed by Antonio Vivaldi. Arranged by Phil Lawrence. Baroque. Score and parts. 52 pages. Phillip Lawrence #6611923. Published by Phillip Lawrence (A0.883787).

Vivaldi’s Concerto Grosso in D Minor is much overlooked by his more popular works. Written for 3 solo instruments (2 vln’s & Vc) and string continuo I have explored the works more antiphonal prospects for brass band and completely changing the band’s seating format to encompass a large arc formed in front and to the side of the audience to give a stereophonic picture left and right. All sections and soloists get to shine in this (2 movement work at present) work which fits as a great opener at a church venue, and dare I say a baroque work such as this fits right into a Christmas programme?
