Composed by Drake Mabry. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 14 pages. Drake Mabry #518865. Published by Drake Mabry (A0.799437).

Until the Spring was written for soprano voice and Baroque oboe although the oboe part could also be played on a modern oboe. The three movements are each based on a different poem written by my sister, Caroline Mabry. I like the message and images evoked by these poems. There is both written and spatially notated music. There are some contemporary techniques for the Baroque oboe (at A = 415), an instrument I was playing at that time. These include multiphonics, air sounds, embouchure glissandi, tremolos and quarter-tones. The duration is 12 minutes. This is a manuscript score, thus the reduced price.
The premiere was by Carol Plantamura and Drake Mabry at the University of California, San Diego on May 10, 1982.
