Commissioned by trombonist John Rutherford for the Three’s Company Trombone Trio, Pann’s concerto for three trombones is scored for string orchestra and two percussionists, leaving all the wind color to the soloists. The three movements are titled: I. Rutherford’s Rag, II. Angela’s Waltz, and III. Gallop.
