The author, Richard Smallwood, is quoted to say, "It’s a song that gives praise to God, transcending church walls and going places I never thought it would go," circa 2015. The arranger is Brian Leverett. He has a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Education from Wayne State University and has now retired from teaching Elementary and Middle School Band in the Detroit Public Schools. He also has been an avid member of handbell choirs for twenty years.
