The Ultimate “Europe” Collection is an exciting medley of explosive 80s rock! Europe, who originally went under the name of Force, were founded in 1979 in the Swedish town of Uppland Väsby. At the beginning the band wrote progressive rock but soon switched their direction to a more accessible, keyboard-laden rock sound. Their worldwide breakthrough came in 1986 with the snappy The Final Countdown. This infectious rock number occupied the number one slot in the charts the world over. At the end of the 80s Europe had various other hits, of which Rock the Night, Carrie and Superstitious are the best known. The band, which over time has released eightstudio albums, is still going strong and has a loyal fan base. De Zweedse band Europe, die aanvankelijk Force heette, werd in 1979 opgericht in Upplands Väsby.Van oorsprong speelde de band progressieve rock, maar al snel stapte Europe over op een softer rockgeluid, waarin een belangrijke rol was weggelegd voor de keyboards. In 1986 brak Europe wereldwijd door met het flitsende nummer The Final Countdown. Deze aanstekelijke rockklassieker stond in veel landen over de hele wereld op nummer 1 - ook in Nederland en België. Eind jaren tachtig scoorde Europe nog een aantal hits, waarvan Rock the Night, Carrieen Superstitious de bekendste zijn. De band, die in de loop der tijd acht studioalbums heeft gemaakt, is nog altijd springlevend en heeft een vaste schare fans. Le groupe devint mondialement célèbre en 1986 gr ce la chanson The Final Countdown. Très accrocheur, ce titre occupa la première place du hit-parade dans le monde entier. la fin de la décennie, Europe connut d’autres succès, les plus célèbres étant Rock the Night, Carrie et Superstitious.
