Aboriginal dream-time legend tells of three sisters, 'Meehni', 'Wimlah', and 'Gunnedoo,' who were revered members of the Katoomba tribe. The three sisters dared to fall in love with three brothers from the neighbouring Nepean tribe, despite their union being forbidden. The witchdoctor from the Katoomba tribe intervenes to protect the sisters by turning them into stone, preserving them for eternity.
