Europe`s broad cultural heritage is a valuable possession that should be protected.We stand before the enormous challenge of creating a unity of East and West while at the same time maintaining the long established cultural diversity. After all, the wealth of Europe lies within its variety of traditions - this is what the future should be built upon. This hymn, written within the context of the Austrian EU Presidency 2006, is dedicated to all of Europe´s young people and will add a wonderfully uplifting feel to any performance.
Dieses Stück wurde von der österreichischen Regierung anlässlich der Jugendministerkonferenz und des österreichischen Jugend-Events 2006 in Auftrag gegeben. Das Thema dieser Veranstaltung und auch dieser Hymne ist die enorme Aufgabe, Ost und West zu vereinen und zugleich die über lange Zeit gewachsenen kulturellen Facetten zu bewahren. Diese Aufgabe liegt auch in den Händen der Jugend, die die Zukunft Europas sind. The Spirit of Youth ist allen jungen Menschen in Europa gewidmet, die musikalische Botschaft spricht jedoch Jung und Alt an.
La richesse du continent européen provient de la grande pluralité des traditions, et c’est sur cette pluralité que l’Europe du futur doit être construite. Cet hymne a été composé sous la Présidence autrichienne de l’Union européenne au cours du premier semestre 2006. The Spirit of Youth est dédié la jeunesse européenne, architecte de la paix et de la solidarité dans l’Europe unifiée de demain.
La ricchezza del continente europeo è costituita dalla grande pluralit delle tradizioni, ed è su questa omogeneit che deve essere costruito il futuro del nostro continente. Questo inno è stato composto sotto la Presidenza austriaca dell’Unione Europea nel corso del primo semestre 2006. The Spirit of Youth è dedicato alla gioventù europea, artefice della pace e della solidariet nell’Europa unificata di domani.
