Derek Hasted writes "This poignant song, penned by Paul Simon and performed by Simon and Garfunkel. was written when Paul Simon was alone in New York, writing for their final album “Bridge Over Troubled Water”.
My arrangement for flute and guitar sits somewhere between Easy Intermediate and Intermediate, and includes the subtle differences between the various verses in the original. I’ve chosen a key which hits the sweet spot of both flute and guitar, both in terms of sound and playability.
The Guitar part is accessible in the lower positions to provide a depth of accompaniment to underpin the light flute melody. There is a “score only” version and a “score and tab” version, to suit both classical and acoustic players.
