'Take a Dream' is taken from the musical 'Berlin' by British songwriter Tim J Spencer (PRS). In it the character Elin (the main female lead) has just been put in jail as a politcal prisoner. This is her first night alone in her cell and the song, which is a lullaby that builds, and she sings of how her mother used to get her to sleep. The MP3 is a demo by the composer but is in the key of the sheet music as per the female character. It is best suited to a Mezzo Soprano but could be sung by a soprano or alto. The song is taken from the Tim Spencer Songbook, a series of audition pieces for musical theatre performers.
