Here's how to play "Space Oddity" by David Bowie on piano!

With this sheet music, you can play "Space Oddity" in an accurate piano arrangement which is not too hard to play, and sounds fantastic!

The full melody is included in the piano part, so this arrangement makes for a perfect instrumental (piano solo) version of "Space Oddity".
However, you can also use these sheets to accompany a singer, or sing along yourself - there's a seperate system for the singer with the song's full lyrics.

"Space Oddity" was the first track on David Bowie's self-titled second studio album (released in 1969) and became his first single to chart in the UK.

The song was inspired by Stanley Kubrick's 1968 film "2001: A Space Odyssey", and was released only a few days before the launch of the Apollo 11 mission (the first moon landing with Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin).

"Space Oddity" was famously performed by astronaut Chris Hadfield on the International Space Station, and was also played in space by Elon Musk's Tesla Roadster that had been carried by a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket.

"Space Oddity" is a song with a remarkable history, and a wonderful piece to play on piano!

Here are the full lyrics to David Bowie's "Space Oddity":

Ground Control to Major Tom
Ground Control to Major Tom
Take your protein pills and put your helmet on
Ground Control to Major Tom
Commencing countdown, engines on
Check ignition and may God's love be with you
Ten, Nine, Eight, Seven, Six, Five, Four, Three, Two, One, Lift off
This is Ground Control to Major Tom
You've really made the grade
And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear
Now it's time to leave the capsule if you dare
This is Major Tom to Ground Control
I'm stepping through the door
And I'm floating in a most peculiar way
And the stars look very different today
For here
Am I sitting in a tin can
Far above the world
Planet Earth is blue
And there's nothing I can do
Though I'm past one hundred thousand miles
I'm feeling very still
And I think my spaceship knows which way to go
Tell my wife I love her very much she knows
Ground Control to Major Tom
Your circuit's dead, there's something wrong
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you...
Here am I floating round my tin can
Far above the Moon
Planet Earth is blue
And there's nothing I can do
