Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Susan Conant. A Cappella,Celtic,Classical,Folk. Octavo. 2 pages. Susan Conant #433097. Published by Susan Conant (A0.797087).

A haunting, Medieval style arrangement of this ancient Scots/Irish tune for soprano and alto voices. It is effective both as a vocal piece and instrumental lament and would be useful for Celtic programs, concerts and early music events. Although effective as an a-capella piece, this mp3 performance utilizes a bouzouki playing a drone on E and D. This helps to keep the singers on pitch. The tune was first collected in County Donegal in 1909 by the poet, Padraic Colum (who composed the lyrics) and the musicologist, Herbert Hughes.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
