(for Piano Solo)
Sentidos is a suite in 5 movements for piano solo. Each movement represents one of our senses.
The work explores the role of our senses in music. Listeners will explore a beautiful range of colors and harmonies as the performer paints each movement with the sounds of the piano.
Two movements (Picante, and Iridisencia) are "advanced" pieces, the first one in the style of a "tocata" and the other in a freestyle that changes harmonies quickly (as in the light reflected in the back of a compact disc). The other 3 movements might be suited for "intermediate-advanced" players.
The movements are as follows:
I. Petricor (The smell of wet soil)
II. Chromestesia
III. Picante
IV. Repeluzno (a short chill)
V. Iridisencia
Playing performance time is around 18 minutes
