It is usually played at wedding receptions, parties, parades and at the end of a jazz funeral. The song is based on a simple 12-bar blues form and has a very sing-able melody. Before the melody starts, Trombone 1 plays a loud, high call to which the crowd responds, "Hey!" The group then proceeds to play the melody while second line parade festivities ensue. This arrangement, written at the Adv. Intermediate level for Trombone Quintet/Choir, is a fun and easy to perform tune for students or professionals. Solos for Trombone 1, Trombone 4, and Bass Trombone may be played as written or improvised with the included chord symbols. Optional Acoustic Bass and Drum Set parts are also included for a more realistic performance. Performance time approx. 2 min. 40 se.
