Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Nancy J. Brammer. Christian,Christmas,Romantic Period,Sacred,Spiritual. Octavo. 18 pages. Nancy Brammer #6020479. Published by Nancy Brammer (A0.945632).

A unique arrangement of two pieces that were blended together for the Christmas season.  Rise Up Shepherd and Follow and Star in the East.  The arrangement is for two basic parts for women and men, set up to be accessible for both soprano and alto, and tenor and baritone.  They are accompanied by oboe, clarinet and piano.  Flute could easily play the oboe part with perhaps raising an octave here and there. The piece has a bit of jazz feeling to it contrasting with the Shaker plain song of the Star in the East. Unfortunately on the recording, the program doesn't make it possible to have the voices sing the words. Only oohs.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
