The groove on this chart is a nod to modern drummer Ahmir "?uestlove" Thompson. It is a neo-soul swinging hip hop groove that transitions nicely into the straight ahead swing sections. Harmonically, the head and solo changes float between D-minor and B-minor sonorities. Solos are for trumpet 4 and guitar. A "horns alone" interlude separates the two solo sections. Lead alto is on soprano. All saxophones double on flute. Trumpet 1 goes to a written E (Concert D) above the staff. 5 trumpets, 5 trombones, 5 Saxes, Guitar, Piano, Bass, Drums.
