Some scholars insist that music is no more than pure sound structure, while others believe in its capacity of expressing deep thoughts and profound emotions of human experience. I believe in sounds structured to tell some story, event, or sensation. Reason vs Emotion narrates someone considering a risky decision. The piece presents the two characters arguing about that decision. The piece starts with Emotion presenting its arguments, the Reason warns about the risks involved. In the middle of the piece, one hears the two characters talking at the same time. The piece ends with Emotion saying it will take the chance. There are motives and small melodies showing doubt, good memories, anger, scary moments, and fear in this piece. https://youtu.be/j-daLpujFxs.
