Published by Bandapalooza (A0.1425112).A Momentous Occaision is a grade 2+ concert opener for band that is quite suitable for use as processional music for special events and assemblies such as a graduation ceremony or convocation. I wrote this piece in 2011 my band to play as our faculty processed in at our school's graduation ceremony. We needed music that our school's string orchestra students could play with us, and so I included optional parts for 1st & second Violin, Viola, Cello, & Bass. These optional parts are included with this set. My students were able to learn this music in less than a week, which worked out well for our very hectic and irregular end of the year schedule.
