I woke up with what I thought was the sun shining in my face, but instead was greeted by the last glimpses of the full moon setting as the first rays of sunlight rose from the opposite horizon. Beyond the rustle of the trees, I heard the first of the morning’s bird calls, and the last of the evening’s owls mixing over the gurgle of a nearby stream. The motions of the four percussionists mimic the push and pull of different species using a shared landscape for their various needs; and the sounds mimic the soft whispers of the early morning.
