Published by DAVID LEE GINGRAS (A0.1420548)."Lover" is a popular song composed by Richard Rodgers with lyrics by Lorenz Hart. It was sung in the movie Love Me Tonight (1932) by Jeanette MacDonald. Popular recordings in 1933 were by Paul Whiteman and His Orchestra (vocal by Jack Fulton), Guy Lombardo and His Royal Canadians, and Greta Keller. This version features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used in a number of our arrangements. Most of the available arrangements of this classic tune are in 3/4 time, but the Ella Fitzgerald version is in 4/4 time, so John and I decided to create this version in 4/4 time. We also added what we think are some pretty cool left-hand fills that we hope you will like! It's a fun song and not too hard to play!
