If you're looking for an accessible yet affective piece for organ on the patriotic theme, you will enjoy this Toccata on America the Beautiful. After the initial bold introduction, in the first part (Bb major) the tune is presented in the pedals and in the second part (D major) - in the hand parts with broken chord toccata figuration. The introduction motive comes back at the end and toccata finishes optimistically in the home key of Bb major. Perfect piece as a postlude for liturgical organ playing or the end of recital. Dedicated to James Michael Stevens.
