De compositie beleefde haar premi?re in 1978, gespeeld door het Nationaal Jeugd Fanfare Orkest o.l.v. Piebe Bakker. Laatstgenoemde dirigent (overleden in 2002) waseen groot pleitbezorger van nieuw materiaal voor fanfare.
De compositie doet denken aan de muziek van Bela Bartok en in het bijzonder zijn Concert voor Orkest.
