De melodieën in deze suite zijn afkomstig uit het koloniale tijdperk van de Verenigde Staten. Ze komen uit een verzameling van George Bush (geen familie van de Amerikaanse president). Bush nam deel aan de Amerikaanse onafhankelijkheidsoorlogen raakte gewond tijdens de Slag bij Brandywine Creek. Hij hield veel van muziek. Naar verluidt had hij tijdens zijn reizen een viool bij zich en begon hij melodieën te verzamelen in een aantekenboek. In deze suite komenaan bod: Successful Campaign, Congress Minuet en Miss Moore’s Rant.
