During the Soviet era the national flower served as a symbol of resistance. In The Land of the Cornflower, Rob Goorhuis paints an impression of Estonia and then features the traditional folk song melodies Kohaanuška, Minoorne labajalgand Padespaan.

De korenbloem is de nationale bloem van Estland. Tijdens de Sovjetoverheersing stond ze symbool voor het verzet. In The Land of the Cornflower geeft Rob Goorhuis een impressie van Estland en brengt hij achtereenvolgens de volksmelodieën‘Kohaanuška’, ‘Minoorne labajalg’ en ‘Padespaan’voor het voetlicht.

Das Land der Kornblume“ ist Estland. Die Nationalblume diente während der Sowjetzeit auch als Symbol des Widerstands. In The Land of the Cornflower vermittelt Rob Goorhuis einen Eindruck von Estland, um dann die traditionsreichenVolksliedmelodien Kohaanuška, Minoorne labajalg und Padespaan ins Rampenlicht zu rücken.

Le bleuet est l’emblème de l’Estonie depuis 1968. Pendant la domination soviétique, cette fleur servait aussi de symbole au groupe de résistants. C’est pourquoi le compositeur a intitulé cette oeuvre qui s’inspire de mélodies populaires estoniennes The Land of the Cornflower (Le Pays du Bleuet). Rob Goorhuis nous offre d’abord une impression générale de l’Estonie, puis met en avant les mélodies populaires Kohaanuška, Minoorne labajalg et Padespaan. En route vers l’Europede l’Est !
