Published by Gary Ray Adkison (A0.953719)."Praise Him" is an 81 measure, 3-4-5 octave arrangement that also uses OPTIONAL 3 octaves handchimes. Handbells can be substituted for the handchimes. This arrangement is a medley of the Christian hymns: "All Glory, Laud, and Honor", "Jesus, Lover of My Soul", and "Hosanna, Loud Hosanna", in that order. Obviously, praising God is the unifying theme of the medley. "Jesus, Lover of My Soul" is the handchime section. In the first and last selections of this arrangement, use is made of powerful unison lines. These selections are done in a bold, anthemy style. (Is "anthemy" a word?) :) "Jesus, Lover of My Soul" contrasts with both of the other selections. It is in a laid-back, subdued, reverent style. The handchimes add to this effect. The first selection also features a shake, and a brief descant line. The last selection has a martellato ending. The melody in this section is sometimes in the bass notes. Chords, throughout, are sometimes changed to more interesting chords than those that are in the original versions of these hymns. This is about a level 2 arrangement in difficulty.
