Composed by Edward Elgar. Arranged by Marcus Martin. 20th Century,March,Patriotic,Praise & Worship. 99 pages. Cornelius Edition (uk) #961638. Published by Cornelius Edition (uk) (A0.1377034).This famous march, regularly performed at u.k. 'The Last Night of the Proms' was composed in 1901. The words 'Land of Hope and Glory' were added to the trio section in 1902 by A C Benson. This section is traditionally associated with USA high school and college graduation ceremonies.
This version is for full symphony orchestra. 2 Piccolos, 2 Oboes, 2 Clarinets, 2 Bassoons, 4 horns, 2 Trumpets (or Cornets) 3 Trombones, Tuba, Organ, Harp, Percussion and Strings. However 2nd Piccolo, 3rd and 4th Horns, Harp and Organ are all 'ad lib' and in general the arrangement is effective with the omission of some of the other wind and brass at the conductor's discretion.
A full score and all parts are included with alternative Bb parts for Clarinet and Trumpet.
