Commissioned in 2009 by the Pender Harbour (British Columbia) Chamber Music Festival, it is a six-movement suite inspired by the natural beauty of British Columbia's Sunshine Coast. Working in a chromatic tonal palate, the composer expresses an array of moods and musical styles which reflect the spirit of this rugged northern coastal environment: a pristine landscape of ocean, inlets, snow-capped mountains, majestic trees, and abundant wildlife.
