By Oley Speaks. By Oley Speaks. Arranged by Alan Duguid. 19th Century,Romantic Period,Singer/Songwriter. Brass Band. 30 pages. Alan Duguid #711435. Published by Alan Duguid (A0.1108786).

A hugely popular song of its time, this new arrangement for soloist and brass band brings this back into the 21st century. Originally composed and performed by the American singer and songwriter Oley Speaks in 1907, this song setting of text by Rudyard Kipling tells the story of a 19th Century soldier returning home from war and his romance overseas in Burma. The arrangement works as a solo for any Bb instrument within a brass band, though the recording features a cornet sound.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
